Brittany Stewart This zero-waste conditioner bar is made for all hair types and my dry, curly and coloured hair is definitely a fan. Working in both soft and hard water, this handmade-in-Tassie bottled-shampoo alternative helped make my hair feel soft and glossy- no mean feat for Sydney’s humid climate. It worked particularly well in conjunction with the shampoo and I really enjoyed the softly sweet scent of the honeycomb too. As a pioneer in Australia’s ‘green beauty’ movement for over 3 decades and first solid haircare brand, Beauty and the Bees are the blueprint of a successful business that lives and breathes care and consideration for the environment and community. I love the deep relationships and commitment it still has to its home in Tasmania, hiring locally and sourcing all its raw ingredients from nearby farms and producers who have been partners for decades. No single-use plastic ever may seem a simple ethos but it’s a powerful one- the brand is 99.9% plastic free too. With an estimated 3 million plastic bottles prevented from being manufactured in the first place, I love that they are still always looking for ways to improve every aspect across their packaging and manufacturing. Beauty and the Bees shows what’s possible and powerful when it comes to clean and conscious beauty.Kelley Sheenan Smells beautiful, my hair felt great and I love that it replaces 3 bottles of liquid conditioner! Such a great product- I was actually very surprised, given past experience with solid haircare bars. Praise bee! Beauty and the Bees were doing zero waste before it became cool. A pioneer in Australia when it comes to solid haircare bars (and plastic-free products), they are an incredibly inspiring brand with a huge list of impressive initiatives.Eljay Esson I love the idea behind solid bars for cleaning hair. They last for so long and contain some really amazing ingredients. This particular bar was pleasant in aroma and was easy enough to use although it needed a lot of rubbing to get the right consistency. I enjoyed reading about the support of the local community of Tasmania and how they take pride in sourcing locally and the sustainable practices that benefit the environment and its animals. The packaging is engaging to the customer and I am impressed by the biodegradable and recycled materials used for shipping.
